Tackley WI started 2020 with a craft evening. As a new WI, it was a lovely opportunity to get to know members better. It turns out that we are a bunch of talented ladies. A good start was made on our WI tablecloth, and we now have a good selection of handmade cards to use over the coming months. It was a lovely way to start the year. 2020 promises to be an exciting time, with lots of speakers lined up. You can find out more about our upcoming programme here.

For our December meeting, we welcomed back Kay. Together with Nikki, she showed us how to create our own beautiful wreaths.
Everyone had fun creating their wreath - Tackley will be looking very festive tomorrow! It may be the beginning of November, but Tackley WI are starting to think ahead to Christmas. This month we were very lucky to have our very own Mariella demonstrate how to make proper Italian biscotti. After an extremely entertaining demonstration, we were able to taste some of the delicious biscotti. Of course we were authentic, and dipped it in our amaretto. Thank you to Mariella for a wonderful evening. Join us in December for more Christmas preparation. We'll be making our own wreaths, so dig out your secateurs ready for 3rd December.
Last night saw the first meeting of our newly formed WI. It was lovely to see such a great turn out - we welcomed members, new members and visitors.
We had a last minute change of speaker, due to illness. Kay Shortland from Shipton WI stepped in to save us and entertained us all with tales of her trip to Nepal and the work she and others did helping women learn to sew. Thanks to everyone who came and helped make our first evening a success - see you in November for cooking with Mariella! |
